About Us

Ruzanna Carter M.A., LPC, ATR-P

Founder | Counselor

I was born in Yerevan, Armenia, and moved to the United States at age 12 after the Soviet Union’s collapse. During a time of scarcity and hardship, art became my refuge—a way to express my experiences and stay connected to my culture. I earned a BA in Art Studio and Art History, followed by an MAT in Art Education, teaching middle school art in Title 1 schools for six years.

After facing my own challenges as a single mother and divorcee, I pursued an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy at Lesley University. I completed my internship at Barnabas Horse Foundation, specializing in equine therapy, and now work as an art therapist.

I use a humanistic, person-centered approach, blending talk therapy with art to help clients of all ages process emotions and heal. I work with a range of issues, including anxiety, trauma, grief, and self-esteem, always aiming to meet clients where they are. I’m also committed to giving back through community outreach and volunteer work.

Alexis Zellers, B.A.
Director of Operations

Hi, I’m Alexis!

I graduated with honors from Webster University in 2025 with a B.A. in Psychology, emphasizing in Mental Health, and a Minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I'm currently earning my Master of Science in Psychology at Lynn University as I work toward becoming a licensed clinical psychologist and future professor.

Mental health has always been my passion, especially the ways it connects to identity, gender, and lived experience. I believe in creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

As Director of Operations, I handle the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the practice running smoothly, while also staying closely involved with both clients and our provider. Whether you’re reaching out for the first time or navigating care along the way, I’m always here to help guide the process and ensure your experience feels seamless and personalized.
